Our mission
To foster the flourishing of the human being through reflection, dialogue and action, and to contribute to the moral, intellectual and social progress of Ivorian society. The Grand Lodge of Côte d'Ivoire (GLDCI) gathers lodges that labour in a spirit of brotherhood, discretion and the search for light.

Free men and women
True to the spirit of union, the GLDCI welcomes free men and women of good report, without distinction of origin, belief or condition. In lodge, worldly titles fall away: each comes to labour at the common work.
How does a lodge work?
The meeting
Brethren meet in 'tyled' gatherings according to ritual. This symbolic frame favours listening, just speech and work upon oneself.
Symbolism
Square, compasses, gavel, columns, chequered pavement: the builders' tools become a language for thinking about uprightness, measure and brotherhood.
Silence and speech
One learns to be silent in order to hear, then to speak without wounding. Discretion protects that freedom.
Commitment outside
What is cultivated in lodge is verified in the city: honesty, solidarity, keeping one's word.
In Côte d'Ivoire and beyond
The GLDCI affirms an African Freemasonry, universal in its principles and attentive to the realities of Côte d'Ivoire. It works for the Craft's radiance in Abidjan and throughout the country, respecting the laws of the Republic and freedom of conscience.
The institution is discreet, not secret. Its existence, principles and major texts are public. Only lodge labours — to guarantee freedom of speech — remain confidential.
